Get Involved

Volunteering is a great way to have fun, give back, and learn more about your community. The City of Newcastle values volunteerism and the important role it plays in improving quality of life. By working together, community members can help make Newcastle an even better place to live, work, and visit.

Ways to Volunteer

There are many ways to get involved in Newcastle. Volunteers support city events, community projects, and local organizations throughout the year. Opportunities may include helping at festivals and celebrations, assisting with clean-ups and restoration projects, supporting environmental activities, or volunteering with local nonprofits.

In addition to city-hosted opportunities, several programs rely on community participation. One of the largest is Adopt a Drain, which directly supports the Public Works Department by helping keep storm drains clear and protecting local waterways. These programs and partnerships expand opportunities for community members to make a positive impact.
