Each year, Newcastle’s Stormwater Management Division (SWM) updates its Stormwater Management Program Plan (SWMP). You can view Newcastle’s 2019 SWMP here. The SWMP is required by our NPDES permit. Our SWMP includes all of our stormwater programming, activities, and actions including:

• Public education and outreach
• Public involvement and participation
• Pollution detection and prevention
• Controlling polluted stormwater runoff from construction and development
• Operation and maintenance of Newcastle infrastructure

This year, we have made some changes to our SWMP in response to Washington State Department of Ecology’s plan to issue new NPDES Permits on July 1, 2019. We will make more updates and changes to our programs after the permit is issued and we learn what it requires. We welcome comments and feedback on this plan and all other SWM publications.
