Newcastle Days 2018: Meet the Musicians

Legendary Yes drummer Alan White and his band White will close out Newcastle Days with a 6 p.m. performance on Saturday, Sept. 8. But before he takes the Lake Boren Park stage, meet the performers who will dazzle the crowd throughout the day:

Kira Michele
(1:30-2:30 p.m.)

Kira Michele is a 19-year-old soft rock and alternative singer, songwriter and guitarist from Tacoma. She performs cover songs as well as songs she has written based on her own experiences growing up.

She has been playing the guitar since the age of 7 and writing songs since she was 11. Reflecting on her own experiences during her tween and teen years, Kira turned to her guitar and wrote songs to express her emotions. Now, Kira has released a five-song demo CD called Breathe which has sold hundreds of copies locally.

Megs McLean
(3-4 p.m.)

Megs McLean is a singer-songwriter from Snohomish. Her band delivers an energetic mix of guitar-driven country rock originals and covers.

Megs has played for Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney audiences and headlined numerous festivals and events throughout the Northwest. She has even been recognized as one of the top 10 “Next Women of Country” on Spotify.

Megs’ band members include lead guitarist Ilya Ignatov, drummer Josh Willaert, guitarist and keyboardist James Manigley and Dylan Welsh. Learn more and explore Megs’ music at megsmclean.com.

Kellee Bradley
(4:30-5:30 p.m.)

Kellee Bradley is a singer-songwriter from Seattle who calls her music pop, rock, with a little bit of country. She's got a sound like Natalie Merchant and Sheryl Crow but has a style all her own. Last year, Kellee opened for Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac at Chateau Ste-Michelle Winery.

Since her debut at the age of 15, Kellee has released four albums. Her most recent album Milestones contains heartfelt folk-pop songs that move between vulnerability and self-confidence. White with Special Guest Teen-Artist Caspian Coberly
(6 p.m.)


Newcastle resident and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Alan White returns to close out the show with his band White! Alan White, drummer for the progressive rock band Yes, is considered by many to be one of the greatest rock drummers of all-time. With forty-plus years of performance experience and appearances on over fifty albums, including John Lennon's Imagine, his dossier reads like a who's-who of rock legends. White will entertain with progressive rock and soulful vocals, including some of Alan's memorable material with Yes and John Lennon.
