Current Newcastle Volunteer Opportunities
Posted on 06/01/2018

Volunteering is a great way to have fun, give back, and learn more about your community! The City of Newcastle recognizes the importance of volunteerism and the significant role it plays in providing a richer quality of life for the Newcastle community. Newcastle has volunteer opportunities available for groups and individuals of diverse talents, ages, and interests.

Each month, the Newcastle Community Activities Commission will highlight a few volunteer opportunities on the city's website, social media accounts and email newsletter. If your organization is interested in sharing volunteer opportunities with the community in upcoming posts, contact Commissioner Patti Magers at pattim@newcastlewa.gov. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES IN NEWCASTLE

Updated June 1, 2018

Newcastle Days
Opportunity: The city is seeking six to nine high-school age students and three adults to lend a helping hand with a few potential Newcastle Days projects this summer. Planning for the city’s annual festival is well underway, and we need your help to facilitate possible activities such as a photo booth, a sidewalk chalk art project and other creative youth attractions. Participation counts as community service hours and there are two-hour shifts available during the event.
Date: Sept. 8
Contact: To get involved, contact wendyk@newcastlewa.gov.

Newcastle Theatre Group
Opportunity: Now’s your chance to contribute to a local grassroots effort to form a viable theater group in the Newcastle area. The group is seeking individuals/groups/organizations with interest in local theater. Whether you are a costumer, set builder, audio expert, actor, director, fundraiser or funder, all theater enthusiasts are welcome. The theater group presented its first production “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown” at Newport Covenant Church last February.
