Update on King County Council Appointment to City Council
We learned that the King County Council would hold a special meeting on Monday, November 22, with a motion to appoint a qualified candidate to the City's Position 4 vacancy. (UPDATE: The King County Council has appointed Chris Villasenor to this seat. Join us in welcoming him!)

Staffing Update
The City's Senior Accountant, Chris Shoemaker will be leaving Newcastle to take a position with the City of Seattle. Thank you for everything you've done for the City, Chris! You'll be missed.

Property Tax Levy
The Council adopted Ordinance 637 (the property tax levy) as amended to forgo a 1% increase in 2022, instead banking that increase for possible future use.

Budget
The Council held discussion about the proposed 2022 budget. You can explore the proposed budget online
