In December 2021, Newcastle City Council adopted the 2022 Preliminary Operating and Capital Budget for the City of Newcastle. This proposed budget uses a conservative revenue forecast vetted by the City Council at last year's budget retreat, combined with expenditures reflecting basic service levels that are consistent with the City’s adopted financial policies and State law. The budget serves as a guide to the City’s operations and capital programs for the upcoming year and includes a six-year forecast of expected revenues and expenditures that run through 2027.
This budget was achieved with no tax increases, including without the customary 1% tax levy increase.
