Volunteers Needed for Newcastle Days

Volunteering is a great way to have fun, give back, and learn more about your community! And what better way to get involved than by participating in the city's biggest event of the year?

Newcastle Days is Sept. 7-8 and we need volunteers to help during the celebration! Newcastle has volunteer opportunities available for groups and individuals of diverse talents, ages, and interests.

Vendor check-in (8-10 a.m.)
** Assist vendors with booth location as they check in 

Parade (9-11 a.m.)
** Check in and staging/directing parade participants

Photo booth/face painting (Three shifts: 11:45-1:30; 1:30-3; 3-5)
** Help patrons with costumes, take pictures using patron's mobile phone and assist the face painter with other activities.

Sidewalk chalk (Three shifts: 11:45-1:30; 1:30-3; 3-5)
** Assist "drawers" with their art, collect chalk when participants are done, monitor drawings for appropriateness, manage drawing areas

Fan art (Three shifts: 11:45-1:30; 1:30-3; 3-5)
** Help youth with creative project 

Roamer (1-3 p.m.)
** Bring water to community booths, fill in for community booths for breaks
